Gordon and Westruther have their own community council, a small group of local volunteers who speak up for the area, keep an eye on planning applications that affect us, and give residents a direct line to Scottish Borders Council and other public bodies.

What does a community council do?
Community councils are Scotland's most local level of representation — set up so residents have a proper say on the things that affect them, from planning decisions to road safety to local services. You can read a full explanation on the Scottish Borders Council website.
Gordon and Westruther Community Council covers both villages and the countryside around them. Scottish Borders Council publishes a map of the exact boundary.
